Has received federal money to soundproof homes
The roar of planes coming in and out of Los Angeles International Airport may become more of a dull rumble for Inglewood residents now that the city has received federal money to soundproof homes.
The $10 million grant is enough to insulate 480 homes and give “relief to families in Inglewood who experience airport noise every day,” Congresswoman Maxine Waters announced Thursday.
“Although Inglewood has previously received noise-mitigation funds, not all residents have been covered and many have been waiting for years for soundproofing for their homes,” she said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is directing the money to Inglewood’s Residential Sound Insulation Program.
