Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop at first employing 4 people. Sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and other parts. Within 5 years of operation, the business had stretched to 40 employees and their annual sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. These days, Cascade is among the leading worldwide producers within the material handling industry.
Production and design of the company's original hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business opportunities. During the past 60 years, the material handling trade has developed into a very sophisticated area and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this improvement. Cascade presently continues to develop as the leader provider of lift truck accessories and numerous related items. The company feels assured in their potential in order to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's requirements in the future and remaining aggressive within the international market.
Through the 1950's, Cascade began to fabricate, design, and promote its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was constructed in the year 1956, so as to house all plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current headquarters. After fifteen years of business, total employees reached one hundred eighty workers and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Inglewood a second manufacturing plant was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the business established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Inglewood and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are fabricated internationally thanks to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and 1997 with the impressive acquisition of 5 firms, including the international best in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
